Innovation at the Forefront of the Pandemic
Private sector innovation has been critical in meeting the growing public health needs driven by the coronavirus pandemic. Nowhere has that innovation been more apparent than in the Chicago area where Dr. Karen Kaul, Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at NorthShore University HealthSystem led a team to develop in-house diagnostic testing for COVID-19. NorthShore is also developing its own antibody testing for those who have recovered from the illness.
ABC 7 Chicago has been covering the contributions of Dr. Kaul and others at NorthShore over the past few months. Here is the latest news segment highlighting these efforts and the current work on antibody testing.
