HLC Reacts to Latest Most Favored Nation Drug Pricing Proposal

The Healthcare Leadership Council released the following statement about the Administration’s latest Most Favored Nation drug pricing proposal:

“America continues to lead the world in medical innovation, with over half of new medicines coming to market in the U.S. one year before they are available elsewhere. While we strongly support ensuring nations overseas pay their fair share, this isn’t the way to accomplish that goal.

“Adopting foreign price controls dictated by other countries will hurt American patients’ access to vital treatments and therapies, especially those diagnosed with rare diseases, cancers or neurological conditions.

“We are committed to working with the Administration on policies that will improve affordability and increase domestic production, while at the same time protecting current and future life-saving bio-medical advancements.”
